The Deluxe PADI Open Water course has been specifically designed to turn your scuba diving course into a five star experience.

The first day of your course takes place at a picturesque lakeside villa, where your instructor will guide you through the knowledge development section of the course. After the first session, your five star treatment continues with a delicious al a carte buffet lunch served by the pool. After lunch the fun really begins with the confined water sessions, which are conducted in one of the villa’s 6 purpose built dive pools, which are all situated over the lake. (See Gallery) The confined water session is your introduction to scuba diving, and the underwater world. Your instructor will introduce you to the skills you will need to learn for the course, and you will be given the opportunity to practice these skills under the guidance of your instructor.

The second day of the course consists of two open water dives to a maximum depth of 12 meters. These dives take place on the tropical coral reefs of Koh Racha Yai Island , around 1 ½ hours boat ride due south of Phuket. During these two dives your instructor will guide you around these pristine reefs and you will also be required to demonstrate some of the skills you learnt on the previous day, during the confined water sessions.

The final two dives of the course will take place on Koh Phi Phi on the third and final day. The final day starts by a luxury speed boat ride to the magical islands of Koh Phi Phi, with the journey only taking around 45 minutes, compared to a 3+ hour journey by conventional dive boat. Your final two course dives are to a maximum depth of 18 meters, and again your instructor will ask you to demonstrate various skills during these dives. The trip to Phi Phi also includes some sightseeing around these awesome limestone islands, a la carte lunch, and most importantly a chance to dive on one of Thailand’s best reef systems.

Beware

Please remember that when you are choosing a place to do your diving course, it is not the center that is important, but the instructor. Many of the large dive centers employ inexperienced instructors, and you want to avoid this at all costs. If you are unsure please ask the center who your instructor will be and ask to see their qualifications. Here at Dive Travel Asia, the instructors that we use have a minimum of 1000 dives, and must have been an instructor for at least 5 years.
