Beacon Reef which is located off Similan Island number eight, is home to some of the best hard coral formations that can be found anywhere within the Andaman Sea. The hard coral structure stretches up from the depths of around 35 meters, straight up towards the surface, and scientists have estimated that there are in excess of 300 species of hard coral here. This sheer abundance of hard corals make Beacon Reef a great home for common lionfish, scorpion fish, moray eels and the beautiful black banded sea snake.
Hawksbill and Green turtles can both be found cruising over the reef, while schools of batfish and snappers can be seen over the deeper water. This dive can be enjoyed by all, with gentle currents and excellent visibility.
