Bida Nai

Bida Nai Island The small limestone island of Bida Nai (Inner Father in Thai) is situated a few kilometers off the southern tip of Koh Phi Phi Leh. Bida Nai sits just a hundred meters of its larger neighbor Bida Nok, and these two islands offer the best diving around the Phi Phi Islands.

Bida Nai comprises several different distinctive diving environments all on one site. The western side of the island consists of a deep wall, from a depth of 30m all the way to the surface. The wall is a good place for seeing schools of yellow tail snapper, tuna and trevally. The base of wall is home to sleeping Leopard Sharks , trigger fish, large groupers and cruising black tip sharks. The wall itself is home to large fan corals and barrel sponges, divers taking a closer into the cracks and crevasses can find ornate ghost pipe fish, sea horses and white eyed morays.

The eastern side of the island is made up of a sloping coral reef from around 5m to 20 meters the reef is mainly hard corals, and is a good place to find moray eels, banded sea snakes and butterfly fish. Just off the reef a large area of healthy staghorn coral covers the sea floor and leads divers away from the island and to fantasy reef, a deeper pinnacle which is home to several resident Leopard Sharks, some large moray eels, and a hawksbill turtles , Fantasy Reef is also a great place for seeing tuna, trevally and barracudas hunting schools of smaller fish.

The southern part of the island comprises several large limestone boulders scattered around a sloping reef, this area has two great swim through’s, seen cruising the shallow water.
