Situated on the northern side of Similan Island number 6, is the dive site Deep Six. The reef is a underwater ridge that sticks out from the island, and is a good place for seeing larger fish species. Deep Six was badly damaged during the Asian Tsunami in December 2004, and examples of Tsunami’s immense power can be witnessed first hand with enormous boulders and hard coral foundations uprooted and moved.
Despite this damage the reef is a great place for finding large schools of hunting tuna, barracuda, rainbow runners and bluefin trevally. Deeper sections of the reef are home to docile leopard sharks and white tip sharks, while Giant Manta Rays have also been seen passing over the ridge
